Michele S. Allgood

Michele Simmons Allgood practices primarily in the area of municipal finance, but also handles matters of general corporate law, commercial finance, and securities. Ms. Allgood graduated summa cum laude with distinction in 1992 from Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas. She obtained her J.D. from Vanderbilt School of Law in 1995. Prior to joining Williams & Anderson in 2002, she practiced with the Little Rock firm of Wright, Lindsey & Jennings LLP. Ms. Allgood is a member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers, American, Arkansas and Pulaski County Bar Associations, and the Arkansas Association of Women Lawyers. She is listed in Chambers USA as a “Leader” in the field of Corporate/Commercial: Municipal Bonds. She is President of the Kiwanis Club of Downtown Little Rock and on the Board of St. Thomas More Society of Arkansas, Inc. She was selected for inclusion in the 2010 class of “Forty Under 40” by Arkansas Business, a weekly newspaper serving the central Arkansas business community.

Ms. Allgood served as counsel in connection with public finance transactions by the Arkansas Student Loan Authority and the Arkansas Development Finance Authority. Ms. Allgood previously acted as general counsel for a locally-owned multi-state corporation, advising the corporation on a daily basis with respect to issues in the normal course of business. She attended monthly board meetings and acted as recording secretary. Ms. Allgood advised the corporation with respect to long-term leases of real property and purchases of equipment, facilities and property. She also assisted the corporation in a number of conventional financing and refinancing transactions.

Ms. Allgood has additional experience as both lender’s and borrower’s counsel in connection with revolving and term loan arrangements and in connection with construction financing. In other transactions, Ms. Allgood has assisted with seller-financed transactions involving the purchase and sale of an on-going business and the transfer of real property.
